Colorful Standard Responsibility Commitment
Let’s be honest, making clothes has an impact. No brand is above that. But at Colorful Standard, we believe there’s a better way to do things. We built this brand to show what’s possible when you put care, intention, and accountability into every step, leaving less of a mess behind us.
We use certified organic materials, work with trusted partners close to home, and focus on reducing waste at every turn. It’s not perfect, and it probably never will be. But we’re doing the work, and we’re committed to being honest about what that means in practice. So here’s what we mean when we say “responsibly made” and what we don’t:
What ‘Responsibly Made’ Means to Us (and What It Doesn’t)
It does mean:
• Using certified organic and recycled materials and dyes
• Making our products in our own factory and nearby workshops in Portugal, where EU labor laws protect worker rights
• Keeping all production in Portugal close to our main markets within Europe to cut down on unnecessary shipping and overproduction
• Garment dyeing to order, reusing fabric offcuts, and using recycled plastics and certified FSC® certified paper in our packaging
• Holding up to date certifications and documentation for our claims and supply chain
It doesn’t mean:
• Pretending our impact is zero. It’s not
• Using fluffy terms and vague language like “eco” or “low-impact”
• Treating responsibility like a mood. It’s a commitment, not a campaign
Documentation
If anyone asks us to back up a claim, we can provide certification and documentation.
Last Word
To us, responsibility isn’t a catchphrase. It’s what we’re founded on and it’s about striving to do better. For people, for the planet, and to inspire the industry to raise the standards. We’re not here to tick boxes. We’re here to make clothing that people love, made with care and respect. That means doing it in the least wasteful, least harmful way we can. It’s not the easiest way, but it’s the only way we want to do it. And we’re committed to doing better, always.
